Client: Personal project Role: Photographer, Initiator Beauty & awareness campaign
Presented at TEDx
We live in a time where people are looking for validation more then ever. Vulnerability is a term that I’m researching. How do we learn to embrace our vulnerabilities and imperfections so that we can engage in our lives from a place of self-love? How do we accept ourselves and others?
‘Inner surrender’ is one of the most important topics that can be understood on one’s road to healing. Becoming aware of what kind of relationship you have created with your body is a fundamental key for change. Learning to tune into your inner dialogue offers you space to change.
I was curious to see if I could capture the authentic, vulnerable and genuine beauty I recognize in others. We seem to want to show what we think is our best self, sometimes not realising the true beauty of our unique personalities. I love the expression “To let your guard down” — A very old expression, it means to relax your defensive posture, which would leave you vulnerable. It conveys peaceful intent. It's taking a risk, hoping the person facing you will find it persuasive enough to lower his guard as well. The moment where this takes place are the moments where we can truly connect.
My goal with this campaign is to bring awareness about the beauty of inner surrender, embracing vulnerability and cultivating self-love.
